Features and strengths

In an effort to implement the idea of “Health for all”, promoted by World Health Organization, this school cultivate all-round medical and health professionals, including healthcare administration, food and nutrition, healthcare biotechnology, psychology, nursing, optometry, audiology and speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and post-baccalaureate veterinary medicine. In addition, a department of physical therapy will be established in 2019. Besides, there are Edible and Medicinal Mushroom Research Center, Internet Addiction Prevention and Treatment Center, Food Safety Inspection Center, Eye Center, Intelligent Assistive Technology and Rehabilitation Innovation Center and so on, what mentioned above are prospective featured research centers and affiliated hospitals to build an all-in-one environment for academic research and development, practical internship and enterprises industry cooperation so as to establish comprehensive healthy lifestyle and improve elderly living quality. 

Several state-of-the-art research centers are associated with the College, including the Edible and Medicinal Mushrooms Research Center,  Food Safety and Inspection Center, Internet Addiction Prevention and Treatment Center, and Eye Center, Intelligent Assistive Technology and Rehabilitation Innovation Center. The Edible and Medicinal Mushrooms Research Center cultivates high-value edible-medical mushrooms to extract functional ingredients, examine biological functions, and develop related mushroom products. This center is the only mushroom research center at an education institution in Taiwan. The Food Safety and Inspection Center provide services in gene, microbial and chemical and toxicological inspection, and is the first center to specialize in genetically modified food inspection. The Internet Addiction Prevention and Treatment Center aims to prevent and treat internet addiction, and determine the influence of internet use. Its missions include research, service, training and social advocacy. The goal of the Health Policy and Management Center is to promote research in public health policy, management of the health service industry and citizen health.
